Eight partners from different countries have one goal: The common development of a novel system for the prediction of and preventive protection against floods, mudflows, land slides, and avalanches.

The countries of the Alpine space are confronted with similar problems and challenges in many respects, such as

• a shortage of building land
• high population densities on a seasonal basis
• the ubiquitous threat of natural hazards

It is all the more meaningful, therefore, to find and implement
common solutions.
